Dr. Samrat Dey, MSc (Gold Medallist), MScCS, MBA, PhD, is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as the Head of the Department of Physics at Pragjyotish College and was the Founding Head of the Department of Physics at Assam Don Bosco University. A consistent board and university rank holder all throughout his academic career, he secured First Class First positions in both B.Sc. and M.Sc. He has also qualified both UGC-CSIR NET (All India Rank 8) and SLET (Rank 6). He has been actively associated with various academic bodies, including serving as an external member of the Boards of Studies in three universities. Dr. Dey has authored two books, published over a score of research papers, completed a sponsored research project, and supervised one PhD scholar. His research interests span superfluidity, interdisciplinary science, and pedagogical research. He has held key roles as Course Coordinator for the Science Academies’ Refresher Course on Frontiers of Theoretical Physics and convenor of several conferences. He has also been the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Applied and Fundamental Sciences, Guest Editor of the Indian Journal of Science and Technology, and Editor of volumes published by Springer and Elsevier.
